Medicare and You!

Medicare Supplemental

When you enroll in Original Medicare (Parts A and B), the government covers a large portion of your medical bills—but not all of them. You are still responsible for costs like deductibles, copayments, and a 20% coinsurance fee that can add up quickly.

That is where a Medicare Supplemental Insurance plan comes in.

Commonly known as Medigap, these plans are sold by private insurance companies to literally “bridge the gap” between what Original Medicare pays and what you owe out of pocket.

Medicare Advantage

If Original Medicare is a “pay-as-you-go” government system, a Medicare Advantage plan is the “all-in-one” private alternative.

Often called Medicare Part C, Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. When you join an Advantage plan, you still have Medicare, but you get your Part A (Hospital) and Part B (Medical) coverage from the private plan instead of the federal government.

Think of it like a bundled package: it takes your separate Medicare parts and rolls them into a single plan.

Part D Plans

Original Medicare (Parts A and B) covers your hospital stays and doctor visits, but it does not cover most prescription medications you take at home. To avoid paying full price out of pocket for your prescriptions, you need Medicare Part D.

Part D is optional prescription drug coverage provided by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. We can help you choose the best fit. Part D plans are only necessary if you decide to enroll in a Medicare Supplement or stay in just original Medicare. Medicare Advantage normally includes this coverage.

We work with largest insurance companies across the country to find the right fit for your needs. We want to guide you through exactly what Medicare is, what it does and does not cover, and ensure you understand all your options. Contact us today to review, ask questions, or see if we can assist.
